3 Exciting Birthday Updates: FREE Tracking!

This May, Bokksu is turning 3! Wow, we are so grateful to all of you for supporting us and joining us on this journey to share Japanese snacks. For our third birthday, we have some major changes happening, and we think you'll like them!

1. Free Shipping WITH TRACKING!

We now offer tracking on all subscription and gift Bokksu shipments (for free!) to many of the countries we ship to. We are super excited about this! We know tracking has been one of the most highly requested features, and we've been working hard to make it possible. We are now the ONLY Japanese subscription box to offer free tracking on subscription shipments, how awesome is that?! Never worry about your delicious Japanese snacks again, and have peace of mind as they traverse the globe to your door.

2. Vegetarian Snack Bokksu

Vegetarians of the world, rejoice: there is now a Japanese snack subscription box for you! We are proud to launch our very own Vegetarian Snack Bokksu this month. Vegetarian Snack Bokksu has the same monthly theme as our Classic Bokksu but only includes the vegetarian snacks. Any non-vegetarian snacks will be replaced with more pieces of that month’s vegetarian-friendly products.

3. Say Hi to the New and Expanded Culture Guide

Also for our birthday, we've majorly leveled up our Culture Guide! This 16-page beauty means more real estate for us to tell you all about the delicious snacks, the month's cultural theme, and fun new content. In the future, expect Japanese language pages, recipes, profiles on our makers, and more! This culture guide is a far cry from our original 2-sided postcard. Let's take a trip down memory lane:

The Original Guide, circa 2016:

One little postcard, just quick snack descriptions, no introduction to the theme. Yeah, we were a little scrappy back then.

Tasting Guide 2.0, late 2016:

We're starting to get fancy(-ish). We've upgraded to a folding card with a mini introduction to the theme.

Tasting Guide 3.0, mid 2017:

Wow, a tri-fold. Talk about a level up! For the first time, we included a full theme introduction, really tying all the snacks together. It's also when we started including allergy information for every snack.

Tasting Guide 4.0, mid 2018:

More snacks in every box means we needed more space to tell you about them! Goodbye tri-fold, hello quad-fold. With this iteration, we also introduced our lovely map of Japan for a visual on where each snack comes from.

Introducing the Culture Guide, May 2019:

We are so excited about this new guide we even changed the name. It's not just a guide to tasting your snacks, but a guide to Japanese culture and how it connects to the delicious snacks we curate every month.

This glossy guide is 16 pages of pure content including a full introduction to each month's cultural theme and more informative descriptions of every snack.

A map that tells you where your snack came from and a fun fact about each prefecture, as well as more pages filled with culturally relevant content.
