About the Maker
For more than 170 years, Kanetsugu has been renowned for their Samurai sword craftsmanship. Since 1849 their traditions have been passed down through legendary bladesmiths. When the demand for Samurai swords fell after 1870, Kanetsugu shifted their focus to kitchen knives but were sure to continue incorporating their passed-down skills. This is shown through their unique hamaguri (clam-shaped) blade which ensures razor sharpness as well as durability. Overall, the combination of cutting-edge (pun intended) technology, commitment to tradition, and master craftsmen results in an elegant powerful knife that is second to none.
